Professor Aleksandar Subic currently holds the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development) at Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to this appointment, Professor Subic was the Dean of Engineering and the Head of School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at RMIT University. He is internationally recognised for his research in engineering design and advanced manufacturing, having led numerous global R&D projects in collaboration with industry leading to important translational research outcomes and impact.
Professor Subic holds positions on the Prime Ministers Industry 4.0 Taskforce, the Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council leaders group, Deputy Chair of the National Aerospace and Aviation Industries Association, Director of Oceania Cybersecurity Centre and Director of SAE-A. He served on the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) National Assessment Committee for Engineering and Environmental Sciences and on the research advisory panels of the Defence Materials Technology Centre and the European Engineering Research Council.
Prof Subic is an honorary Professor of Tsinghua University, Tianjin University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia (IEAust), Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Fellow of the International Energy Federation (IEF).
