Overview

The incumbent will work as a member of a dedicated team of Jhpiego for implementing the project “Health and Gender Support Project at Cox’s Bazar, funded by the World Bank through UNFPA”. He will be responsible to effective implementation of the activities and to achieve the milestones and indicators set by the project.

Responsibilities

Project Implementation

  • Work in collaboration with the Govt. counterpart at district and upazila level, donor representatives at local level, IPs of the project and other stakeholders to accomplish the assignments and achieve the HGS project objectives.
  • Ensure that the program is implemented in line with the Annual Work Plan (AWP).
  • Work with operations team to procure and supply of logistics, commodities and MSR as approved in the AWP.
  • Ensure expenditure for activity implementation following approved AWP along with adherence to Jhpiego’s policies and procedures

Capacity Development & Mentoring

  • Guide and assist project team members to organize and conduct capacity development activities including competency-based training on MNH including NVD, FP/PPFP, HGBV and other components of SRHR as applicable for the providers and field staffs and ensure cohesive environment for mentoring, post training follow-up, monitoring and supervision of the providers as well as the project activities.
  • Conduct training need assessment and develop training plan accordingly.
  • Mentoring of project staffs for their professional development.

Services Delivery

  • Perform as a management focal for the SRH and HGBV programs at the assigned facilities- 1 DH, 8 UHCs and 20 selected UH&FWCs of Cox’s Bazar district.
  • Achieve the milestones and indicators as mentioned in the project documents.

Program Review, Monitoring and Supervision

  • Oversee the project implementations at the district and upazila level and provide guidance to field colleagues accordingly.
  • Undertake regular field visits according to monthly visit plans and assist field staff as per project requirements.
  • Ensure data management including analysis, use of data for decision making, process documentation and providing regular data uploading into the system (KOBO Toolbox of HGS project) through engaging the Asstt. MIS Officer and other staffs of the project, as applicable.
  • Organize and conduct periodic program review meetings at district and upazila level to share the progress, lessons learnt, way forward with the aim to facilitate GOB/IP counterpart and stakeholders’ proactive engagement towards achieving the project objectives.

Workplan Development and Project Reporting

  • Support the team lead in developing annual work plan and budgeting process.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports regarding his assignment, and support the team lead to prepare quarterly/ annual progress reports and presentations for donor/coordination meetings.

Representation

  • Represent the organization through participation in the meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and symposiums as assigned.

Compliance

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Safeguarding/ PSEA

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Special Assignment

Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor and senior management team.

Required Qualifications

MBBS.

MPH will be an added advantage.

Minimum 8/10 years of work experience in NGO sector, specifically Primary Health Care/ SRHR.

Ability to operate in a complex organization, across functions and work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla
  • Excellent analytical skills for identifying progress/ accomplishment of his/her assignment.
  • Excellent inter-personnel skills and ability to work in team environment.
  • Gender equality and diversity awareness
  • Computer literacy with particular skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Bijoy52, and MS Outlook.
