The IRC Hellas has been working in different parts of Greece since June 2015, providing support to refugees from different backgrounds. In response to the current war in Ukraine, IRC is looking for a Community Psychosocial worker for the recently arrived Ukrainian refugees in Greece. 

Job Overview/Summary: We are looking for a Community Psychosocial support worker, who, under the mentorship and direct supervision of the MHPSS Manager, will provide psychosocial support to the refugee communities.
The job holder will be responsible for building the resilience of people forcibly displaced from Ukraine and other countries and developing cooperation with the different communities. This position will be engaging with individuals and families from Ukraine and other countries, communities who arrive in Greece, and who are experiencing adjustment difficulties to offer encouragement, guidance, and emotional support. The role will include conducting client-centered needs assessments and skill-building workshops to improve problem-solving and promote positive interactions, running psychosocial groups, running recreational activities with children, and developing community activities. 

Major Responsibilities:
• Promote mental health and psychosocial support within affected communities.
• Prepare an appropriate plan of action with clearly identified goals and activities.
• Under the supervision and close collaboration with the MHPSS IRC team, engage in evidenced-based psychosocial activities, including psycho-education, and skill-building activities.
• Collaborate closely with the MHPSS team and facilitate the provision of psychosocial groups.
• Organize and run recreational and psychosocial activities for children.
• Identify and refer to the IRC MHPSS team people from the community who need MHPSS support.
• Document activities through case notes and data entry.
• Participate in the development of MHPSS intervention notes and reports.
• Collaborate with supervisor to provide crisis assessment.
• Support MHPSS activities wherever they take place.
• Assist with the evaluation of current program services and explore ways to introduce new service opportunities
• Attend IRC training and conference calls addressing mental health program development and other mental health and psychosocial support-related topics
• Other duties, as required.

Job Requirements: 
• Undergraduate degree is preferred, ideally in the field of mental health or social services (relevant work experience can be a substitute for an undergraduate degree).
• Proficiency in Greek and/or English and Ukrainian (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Russian is considered as an asset.
• Prior experience working with refugees and/or community organizing, preferably with disadvantaged communities and related to health or mental health
• Trust and rapport with the Ukrainian community
• Familiarity with issues facing refugee and immigrant communities as they relate to trauma, adjustment, and mental health.
• Ability to assess needs, prioritize and develop action plans
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven track record to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively across lines of difference with respect to race, gender, ethnicity, language, religion, and age
• Ability to follow strict guidelines of client confidentiality and safeguarding
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook and familiarity with data-tracking systems.

• While in IRC sites, all IRC staff must wear appropriate IRC visibility.
