How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of  the Education Manager (Alternative Education, EiE), the Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
• Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
• Experience working in education in emergencies programming, eg management of subgrants, familiarity with programming in IDP camps, is an asset
• Experience working with multi-donor funding (eg GPE, ECW) and UN pooled funding (eg CERF, MHF) is an asset

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Otherwise, the selection will be cancelled.
