Mission and objectives

Youth Co:Lab positions young people front and center in order to solve the region’s most pressing challenges. Co-created in 2017 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Citi Foundation, Youth Co:Lab aims to establish a common agenda for countries in the Asia-Pacific region to empower and invest in youth, so that they can accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship. Youth Co:Lab has been implemented in 25 countries and territories across Asia Pacific: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong (SAR), Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vanuatu and Viet Nam.

Context

Youth Co:Lab study on Inclusive Youth Entrepreneurship aims to provide evidence-based information on strengthening an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs from underserved communities. The study analyzes opportunities and challenges faced by these entrepreneurs and explores ways to incorporate an intersectional approach into inclusive youth entrepreneurship support programs. It also provides actionable recommendations to guide programmatic efforts on inclusive youth entrepreneurship. As part of the study, Youth Co:Lab will conduct large-scale survey to capture challenges often faced by young entrepreneurs in Asia-Pacific. The first round of this survey will be implemented in 5 countries i.e: China, Bangladesh, Philippines Viet Nam, and Thailand. To that end, we intend to collaborate with youth Online Volunteers to support in survey dissemination and data collection by reaching out to the targeted audience of the survey and collecting the responses. Who can take the survey? Young entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs* aged 18 – 35 years, residing in or citizens of Bangladesh, China, Philippines, Viet Nam, or Thailand who belong to or serve/intend to serve marginalized and underserved communities including one or more of the following groups: 1. Women 2. Persons with disabilities 3. LGBTI+ 4. Indigenous peoples, ethnic minorities, ethnic groups or ethnic tribes 5. People on the move, migrants, refugees, Internally Displaced Persons

Task description

We are looking for 5 Online Volunteers who under the guidance of Youth Co:Lab team can support our team with conducting a quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The Online Volunteer will be responsible to: - Propose a plan for data analysis for the research - i.e. data collected via the survey, Youth Co:Lab's Study on Inclusive Youth Entrepreneurship Survey - Start data analysis with available data from the survey; followed by sharing results from the analysis of the final data set - Conducting an advanced analysis to find relevant meaning from data and / or Data visualization Timeline of deliverables: - Proposed plan for analysis (individual) - end of November - Proposed plan for analysis – consolidated (as a group) - end 1st week of December - Receive first data set (from survey in English) for analysis – 2nd week of December - Receive completed data set (including survey responses translated to English) - end December - Basic analysis – mid January - Advanced analysis – end of January - Further analysis and data visualization – mid February The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the Youth Co:Lab team and support for the data analysis of the survey responses. ** Prerequisite Assessment: Please refer to survey through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/33PNB3P and briefly state in the 'additional information' section: How will you analyze Qn. 8 and Qn. 9 (b) ?
