INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page. 

The Andean Representative will be responsible for the management and implementation of GGGI Country Programs in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, leading strategy setting, partnership development, donor engagement and resource mobilization across the region.

Reporting responsibilities will be to the GGGI Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

 PURPOSE

 

The Andean Representative will be responsible for the management and implementation of GGGI Country Programs in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, leading strategy setting, partnership development, donor engagement and resource mobilization across the region.

Reporting responsibilities will be to the GGGI Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

ENGAGEMENT

 

  • Lead the engagement with Andean region´s governments to strengthen GGGI positioning and advance GGGI mission and mandate;
  • Lead the engagement with Andean region´s governments to negotiation the formalization of GGGI Host Country Agreement, and the development of Country Planning Frameworks;
  • Lead the engagement with partners and donors to strengthen GGGI delivery and positioning in the region;
  • Foster cross-country collaboration across Colombia, Peru and Ecuador;
  • Engaging with experts, government counterparts and organizations to translate GGGI Strategy into innovative solutions and service offerings;
  • Lead internal engagement with LAC Country Programs, Regional Office, GGGI Investment and Policy Solution (IPSD) division and HQ to build the visibility of the Andean region, identify and build synergies and complementarities across programs; 
  • Represent GGGI in national and international events;
  • Mentor, coach, and promote staff development under your supervision to foster professional growth and enhance team performance.

 

 DELIVERY

 

  • Lead the operationalization and quality-delivery of country and regional projects;
  • Ensure that adequate internal control mechanisms for all finance and administrative services are in place.
  • Oversee and ensure on-time on-budget delivery and high-quality execution of GGGI projects and programs across the region;
  • Oversee Andean programs and projects portfolio, maintaining responsibility for ensuring high-quality design, execution and reporting;
  • Lead the development of idea, concept notes and funding proposals across GGGI priority Programmatic Solutions;
  • Lead the strategy setting processes for donor, partners, and governments engagement strategies; 
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of Andean region donor engagement strategy to secure resources for GGGI Country Programs;
  • Engage in the setting of GGGI Strategic Outcome targets for Andean Country Programs;

 

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Forestry, Agriculture, Biology, or other related fields;
  • Preferably 10 years of professional experience as a project and program manager, demonstrating a trajectory of increasing responsibility and complexity of projects under management;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Team Leader within a public or international organization, managing high performing teams engaged in the delivery of projects with public sector beneficiaries;
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relations with government stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience leading the development of multi-annual, multi-million proposals;
  • This is an international position, requiring at least 2 years of international experience (i.e. experience outside of one’s home country).
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish;
  • Understand and actively supports GGGI’s mission, vision and values.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

 

The Representative is an International Position at X11 grade level in GGGI’s International salary scale. The starting salary for the position is USD 112,176 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. International Positions are eligible to receive additional benefits, including relocation allowance, expatriate allowance, education and childcare allowance.

GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision GGGI is committed to providing a work environment that is sufficiently flexible to accommodate diverse life-cycle challenges and assist Staff members to achieve a better balance between work and personal/family commitments, thus ensuring high performance, long-term productivity, and well-being of Staff members.
