We are looking for an engaged Programme Manager Integrity Development who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

 

The Scope

This is a new role that will oversee the development of new tools and processes to be deployed by the System Integrity Unit. You will manage exciting innovative projects aimed at determining the origin of timber, making case management more efficient, managing risk, among other areas. Whilst you are not expected to be a technical specialist in these areas, you will need to work with experts, stakeholders and other FSC staff to ensure that projects under your responsibility are delivered to a high standard, on time and on budget.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To manage the development of new tools and processes, through effective cross team and unit collaboration and the engagement of external parties.
  • To review the current system and lessons learnt from past cases to refine and develop new solutions aimed at improving and rendering more efficient FSC’s System Integrity
  • To oversee the piloting and implementation of new System Integrity tools and processes, including, for example:
    • FSC Check
    • FSC Case Management tool
    • FSC Wood ID programme
    • FSC risk calculation models
    • FSC Risk Registry
    • Etc.
  • To recommend the financial and operational set-up, related governance modes for decision-making and any normative implications for the new system.
  • Initiate the relevant normative changes.
  • To report to the Board of Directors on progress and prepare for decisions as appropriate and engage with the Board Complaints Resolution Committee (BCRC).  
  • Additional tasks as agreed with the formal supervisor.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Working Education and Training:
    • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experiences/skills/training.

 

  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 6 years of sound professional experience in managing integrity projects and/or facilitating complex technical processes in a multi-stakeholder environment.
    • Experience in overseeing technology innovation from a business functionality perspective is an asset.
    • Sound project management experience.
    • Good time management skills: Ability to perform well while handling simultaneously several functions.
    • Solution and service-oriented attitude to work.
    • Experience with financial administration/management.
    • A strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to plan and organize work.

 

  • Leadership: Several years of experience in managing staff.

 

  • Languages:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
    • Other languages, particularly Spanish and French are a plus.

 

  • Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • Good computer skills, including the use of standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management platforms.
    • Experience with database software and content management systems is a plus.

 

  • Communication Skills:
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relations.
    • Ability to facilitate interactive discussions.

 

  • Others:
    • Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team.
    • Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization.
    • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
    • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
    • Familiarity at the general level with the scope of FSC’s programs.
    • Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
