Organizational Setting\:

The main aim of the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO’s) Representation in Egypt, which is headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist the Government of Egypt to develop policies, programmes and projects to improve food security and nutrition, promote sustainable agricultural development, reduce rural poverty, develop inclusive agri-food systems and strengthen livelihood resilience – in line with the Organization’s Strategic Objectives and United Nations’ global and Government of Egypt’s national Sustainable Development Goals.
The position is located in one of the Governorates of the project \: Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira and Aswan.

Reporting Lines\:

The Field Coordinator will be based in one of FAO intervention governorates in Egypt (Kafr El Sheikh, Aswan and Beheira). She/he will work closely with the national governorate coordinator, project beneficiaries, government and non-government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's objectives are met; she/he will be responsible for performing the following tasks\:

Technical Focus\:

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination and facilitation of field activities related to the project, as well as monitoring, evaluation and timely reporting to Governorate Coordinator of any constraint with his suggestion to resolve field problems

Tasks and responsibilities\:

• Coordinates the implementation of the work plan activities in close coordination with the immediate supervisor
• Contributes to the establishment of annual and monthly workplans.
• Select beneficiaries as per selection criteria, form Farmer Field Schools and Farm Business Schools.
• Liaise with government officials from various directorates of relevance to the assigned works
• Facilitate the organization of training sessions and workshops for project beneficiaries on topics such as crop production, livestock, post-harvest handling, and marketing.
• Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of farm visits for project beneficiaries as and when needed in line with the established work plans
• Provide needed support to farmers and other project beneficiaries in implementing project activities.
• Follow-up the implementation of the Research and Development activities. This may involve overseeing the establishment of irrigation systems, the distribution of agricultural inputs, and the training of farmers.
• Conduct field visits and provide regular feedback to the Governorate Coordinator on project progress.
• Provide the progress data required for the monthly monitoring purposes.
• Prepare regular villages reports and submit to the Governorate Coordinator.


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING


Minimum Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in agricultural development, preferably in a field-based role.
• Working knowledge of English
• National of Egypt.
