MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.

For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Officer – National Position.

As you will be part of the Administration and Finance Department, you will support financial reporting on Malteser International’s projects in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye for various stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare the monthly consolidated budget controls for partners and MI expenses, and compile monthly, interim, and final financial reports of the implementing partners
  • Execute follow-up with partners to ensure timely submission of budget control reports as well as provide support to the Administration and Finance Coordinator on all questions regarding budget controls
  • In coordination with the Program and Program Quality Team, assist the partners in preparing the budget for future projects and interim/final financial reports when needed
  • Assist the partners with the training and guidance as needed e.g., MI financial guidelines, and participate actively in training organized by MI for the implementing partners
  • Submit financial information and reports to the Turkish government authorities as per the government’s instructions and policies
  • Ensure that the entire financial documentation and recordings in both Kilis and Gaziantep offices are done correctly and properly in time including registration into the accounting system
  • In collaboration with MI’s Accountancy consulting firm, share the financial documentation for MI accountancy and ensure the financial documentation according to the Turkish accountancy system and legislation

Your profile:

  • Finance/Accounting qualification
  • 4-5 years of experience working in the finance department with an NGO
  • Fluent in English both in written and spoken skills; Arabic skills will be highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Experience in assessment and monitoring of partners
