ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). The job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or the designate.
At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Office and direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  1. Support the design and implementation of Programmes that provide enhanced opportunities to strengthen communities and promote self-reliance, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience to shocks and response capacity.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of Crisis Response, Food for Assets and Livelihood projects.
  3. Support with the implementation of processes, such as community based participatory planning.
  4. Participate in the supervision of Cooperating Partners while identifying proposed projects.
  5. Work with relevant units to ensure that crosscutting activities are applied in the planning, design, and implementation of communities’ assets creation.
  6. Document the process and prepare a report which will form part of WFP’s livelihood and community asset creation experience.
  7. Prepare reports, highlighting trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EducationCompletion of secondary school education (12 years 0f schooling- O’level). A post-secondary Diploma in the related functional area is desirable.
  • Experience: At least five (5) years or more in a similar function of demonstrated applied skill in the line of work
  • Language: Fluency in oral and written English and Siswati.

REMUNERATION

Monthly salary range: SZL16,462.00 - SZL23,048.00
