This position is based at the ESA HQ - Paris, France

 

The ESA Chief Diversity Officer, who reports to the Director for European, Legal and International Matters, will provide advice on how to embed diversity and inclusion in strategy and leadership, based on best practice and relevant research:

  • Cooperating closely with the Human Resources Department on the integration of diversity and inclusion in Human Resources policies and practice;
  • Fostering internal and external networking;
  • Raising ESA’s visibility as a key player on D&I, fostering i.a. initiatives, aimed at increasing the attractiveness of STEM and space subjects to girls and a more diverse pool of talents;
  • Increasing managers’ awareness.

 

In this capacity, the Chief Diversity Officer has direct access to the Director General, keeping the Director for European, Legal and International Matters informed.

 

The ESA Chief Diversity Officer is also a Special Adviser.

  • Quantitative analysis and benchmarking on D&I activities in other organisations
  • Preparing PPT presentations and drafting report

Education

You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of policy analysis related to D&I, including on subjects related ethical matters, in particular with respect to the projection of commitment on social media and towards young generation.
  • Understanding of an international context and international exposure
