About the Role:

The safety and security of myAgro's team is necessary to achieving our mission. You will direct and implement myAgro's Safety and Security strategy to find and address safety and security risks, maintain continuity of operations and programs, manage incidents and provide for the safety and security of all employees and assets. You will advise our Country Directors and leadership, providing security risk recommendations related to strategic and operational plans, programmatic goals, and partnerships. You will ensure protocols and mechanisms are in place to address country programs' unique risks and challenges.

 

You Will:

  • Develop country security profiles (with regards to the socio-economic, political and military situation in country, the country criminality profile, the nature of ongoing conflicts or crises climatic and seismic hazards and health risks)
  • Develop country security plans, SOPs and contingency plans
  • Prioritize communication with all relevant teams, departments, and roles within the organization to ensure that a focus on security is weaved into our overall program
  • Coordinate and monitor security activities to ensure that safety and security procedures are implemented
  • Ensure that all field staff are aware of prevailing security threats and advised on means to reduce their vulnerability to those threats
  • Monitor the security preparedness of country staff and enforce staff compliance with internal security rules and SOPs, ensuring they are communicated to all staff and understood
  • Run security simulations with the team to test our protocols and procedures, and to keep our team ready
  • Maintain a network of contacts that can provide myAgro with security intel

 

You Have:

  • Language: Fluent spoken and written English and French is essential and required
  • 5+ years' of security and project management experience at an NGO, private organization, or a security consultancy organization
  • 2+ years of prior experience in West Africa in a Safety and Security role
  • Experience creating safety and security plans and SOPs
  • Experience working in a multicultural workplace
